Michael Harmon
Portrait of Michael Harmon

Michael Harmon is a writer and journalist whose work appears in The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and occasionally McSweeney’s.

After cutting his teeth as a literal cub reporter at Londolozi Game Reserve in South Africa, Michael wrote his first story for the Times in 2024, chronicling his railway odyssey from Paris to Istanbul along the route of the Orient Express. Since then, his writing assignments have taken him across New York City and all over the world — to Madeira and Venice, to a herring party and SNL dress rehearsal, and to the back of a Land Rover tracking a celebrity leopard.

He lives (mostly) in Brooklyn, and therefore has a Substack: a food and travel newsletter called Around The World For A Sandwich. He promises it’ll launch any day now.
